Heber-Overgaard, AZ

Heber-Overgaard is a census-designated place in Navajo County, Arizona, United States. Situated atop the Mogollon Rim, the community lies at an elevation of 6,627 feet. The area is atop the Mogollon Rim and surrounded by the sprawling Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest.  The two communities of Heber and Overgaard boast a quaint small-town charm.  Events of days of old are enjoyed by residents and many visitors;  4th of July festivities with small town parade, vendor booths and food in the local park and fireworks.  Oktoberfest in September has food, music and beer at the park. This four season area attract people who love nature and what it has to offer with hiking trails, Forrest Service roads for off-roading or horseback riding.  Fishing is close at Black Canyon Lake and a little further to Woods Canyon and Willow Springs Lake.  Heber Overgaard is located about 38 miles from Show Low and 55 miles from Payson, Arizona.  Mormon pioneers first settled Heber in the late 1880s.

Heber Overgaard is an all season vacation and getaway destination of Arizonans, particularly those that live in the desert communities of the Phoenix and Scottsdale that seek a cooler climate during the summer months.
