Forest Lakes, Arizona is a small unicorporated community in Coconino County on the edge of the Mogollon Rim and close to several small lakes. It's known for fishing, camping, hiking and just relaxing. It grew from the demand of vacations homes to these amenities with some small cabin type subdivisions and RV parks. National Forest parks are also close by for those wanting to just enjoy and leave. Tourism and retiement are the major benefits of this area.
Hunting for elk, deer, turkey, antelope and bear is permitted. Fishing, in nearby trout streams, is popular. There are also picnic and camping facilities available within the area. Other scenic attractions in the area include Black Canyon Lake, Willow Springs Lake, Woods Canyon Lake, Chevelon Canyon Lake, the Canyon Creek Fish Hatchery, Chevelon Butte, and the Fort Apache Indian Reservation.
