Pinedale Arizona

The Pinedale community is a small unincorporated area with interesting history.  The elevation is slightly higher than Heber-Overgaard at about 6,500 feet and is about halfway between Heber-Overgaard and Show Low.  Per the 2010 census the population was 487 but with with the growth in Navajo County it may've increased.  Tall pine trees and other vegetation make it a scenic area to live.

Pinedale was first known as Mortenson, after Neils Mortenson who established a Mormon settlement there in 1879. It was also known as Percheron, for the breed of stallions which Mortenson had brought with him. By 1888, however, the settlement was called Pinedale. (information from Wikipedia)
